A well-known City Island gallery is marking its 40th anniversary with a special photography project that's been 40 years in the making.
Ron Terner, owner of Focal Point Gallery, is remembering City Islanders who have passed away with a memorial rock project at his favorite spot on the City Island Harbor.
Terner has spent the past few months at a rocky cove behind P.S. 175 where he put 70 portraits of people he photographed over the years onto the faces of the rocks themselves.
"City Island is special, I think the people are special and I think it's a nice combination," Terner said of his rock memorial, adding, "Who knows what the next project will be."
