Warming centers open to the public at six locations in The Bronx, as residents experience single-digit temperatures.
New York City is in a Code Blue. Officials are urging residents to stay warm during freezing temperatures, especially after Mayor Zohran Mamdani announced that 10 people were found dead outside.
"We don't yet know if every case will be ruled hypothermia, but we need every new yorker to be alert and looking out for their neighbors," he said.
If you see any vulnerable New Yorkers out on the street, call 311 and they will pick them up and bring them to a nearby shelter to keep warm.
