Black Lives Matters demonstrators and pro-police protesters have clashed during what was supposed to be a peaceful protest in Brooklyn.
Hundreds of people came out Wednesday to support the Black Lives Matter movement and the NYPD as a chance to come together, but not everyone felt that way.
News 12 is told things took a turn within minutes after one group of protestors turned violent.
Protestors were seen escorted into police vans in handcuffs. News 12 estimates over a dozen were arrested. After some refused to get up, blocking the path that was set up for people to march, police quickly took precautions, temporarily pausing the march until the bridge cleared.
Organizers say it was supposed to be a big day for the city as people came together to march in unity supporting the Black Lives Matters movement and NYPD officers.
