Mayor Michael Bloomberg today announced that life expectancy rates in New York City are higher than anywhere else in the nation.
Bloomberg said the city's Department of Health saw mortality rates improve in seven categories: HIV infection, heart disease, cancer, drug overdose, homicide, traffic accidents and infant mortality.
"When asked what is this administration most proud of, I don't think you can come up with anything remotely close to this," Bloomberg said.
