Board cites ‘serious misconduct’ in firing of Cinema Arts Centre founder’s son

The son of the founder of the Huntington Cinema Arts Centre has been ousted from his leadership role after the theater said it uncovered "serious misconduct."
The Cinema Arts Centre issued a press release Wednesday addressing the departure of co-director Dylan Skolnick, whose parents, Vic Skolnick and Charlotte Sky, founded the beloved independent cinema in 1973.
"Members of this Board of Directors take their fiduciary and stewardship responsibilities seriously. The organization's best interests will always be put first," Board Chair Matthew Daidola said on behalf of the Board of Directors.
"With that," Daidola stated, "the Cinema parted ways with Mr. Skolnick after discovering and communicating to him what it believed to be, and continues to believe was, serious misconduct. This was a difficult decision given the family's history, but please keep in mind that major Board decisions like this are not made hastily."
Former Cinema Arts Centre Board Co-Chair Michael Kornfeld will now serve as interim co-director alongside co-director Kelsie Greene.
