Body found in wooded area near Eastchester bowling alley
A body was found in the wooded area near Hollers Avenue in Eastchester.
Police say the body is that of a man who may have been in his 40s. He had suffered trauma to the face and head. His shoes were possibly found in the street.
Police sources tell News 12 that the man appears to have been killed less than 24 hours ago.
The body was spotted around 10 a.m. Police responded to a 911 call and found the unidentified male unconscious and unresponsive.
Most of the road is secluded. It is mainly used by truckers who park big rigs overnight, but the Bowlerland bowling alley is less than a block away from the site. Investigators say it appears to be the only source of surveillance video in the area.
Authorities say the medical examiner will determine the cause of death.
