Many things were different this Election Day due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The biggest difference, according to the Board of Elections was safety, which was one of their biggest priorities
When entering a polling site, the BOE says voters saw marking on the floor to help maintain social distancing.
News 12 was told voting machines were cleaned and sanitized frequently. Voters were required to wear a mask and if a person did not have one the polling site had masks available.
New Yorkers should have also received a fast pass tag in the mail. This gave them contactless check-in, needing only to scan the barcode to vote.
For those voting by absentee ballot, the ballot must be postmarked by today and dropped in a secure ballot box at the Board of Elections office or an Election Day site by today.
