A Bronx man is writing a book about how he had no reservations welcoming Fidel Castro to the South Bronx for the 50th anniversary celebration of the United Nations more than two decades ago.

"I decided the easiest thing to do is to write a press release saying to the public what the mayor did was wrong," says activist and businessman Julio Pabon. "As Latinos, we felt if Fidel Castro wants, he can come to our borough with the most Latinos and he can have dinner up here."

Pabon's book, titled "Knockout," chronicles the idea that turned into an actual visit.

With the help of Rep. Jose E. Serrano, the dinner event went off without a hitch. Serrano and Pabon say more than 300 people attended the dinner event. They say Castro was respectful to the American people and a pleasure to meet.

"Knockout" is set to be released in October.
