The Bridgeport Fire Department says seven people were rescued from a boat taking in water Monday afternoon in the area of Long beach in Stratford.

They say around 3:45 p.m. they responded to a water emergency and found a 32-foot vessel taking on water.

Five people were transferred to a Bridgeport Fireboat, while two others remained aboard the original vessel to assist emergency crews with towing operations.

Officials say the occupants were safely returned to shore and no injuries were reported.
