Bridgeport students with special needs get new playground

Bridgeport students with special needs got the honors to help dedicate a new playground designed to give every kid the chance to be a kid Friday.
The $100,000 setup at Waltersville School incorporates state-of-the-art features seen nowhere else in the city.
Officials tell News 12 the design gives special access even to medically-fragile kids, who, in the past, have never been able to use a school jungle gym.
The facility features super-soft surfaces made possible by specially-processed recycled tires.
Officials say the playground is fully compliant with ADA regulations and was paid for by the state Department of Education bond funding.
