A Belmont mailbox is back up and running after being locked up for several days.
The mailbox, located on the corner of East 187th Street and Belmont Avenue, was locked and sealed, and many residents didn't know why.
Officials say the lock on the mailbox was broken, so they replaced it with another lock so that no one's mail was jeopardized. They say the lock has been replaced and is now back open.
The mailbox was also moved to the other side of the sidewalk, right outside of the Mount Carmel Post Office.
