Community members stood together at Lehman College on Sunday in support of
Vanessa Gibson as she was inaugurated as the first Black woman to serve as Bronx borough president.
Gibson
began her journey in public service just over 20 years ago. She has served in state Assembly and in the City Council.
Gibson was
sworn in back in January, and for the first two months of her presidency, she
has already encountered challenges like the deadly Twin Parks fire and
multiple fatal shootings in our borough.
