A Soundview boy who fell from a ninth-floor window last week has died as a result of his injuries, the boy's family says.
Kingston Spencer, 7, fell from Bronx River Houses at 1435 Harrod Ave. Saturday. He was rushed to NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi where a family friend said he underwent surgery for his injuries. She says he suffered broken bones and bleeding in his brain.
Police say the boy's mother was in the apartment at the time. They say he pushed the paneling next to the air conditioning unit, causing him to fall out of the window.
Kingston's mother confirmed to News 12 Thursday that he died Wednesday. She says there will be a vigil for him Friday at 6 p.m.
She said in a Facebook post about her son that he had Down syndrome, and his organs were donated after he passed.
The city's Administration for Children's Services and the NYPD are investigating the incident.
