One Catholic school in Melrose is celebrating 170 years of service. This comes as some parochial schools are prepping to close their doors at the end of the school year.
Immaculate Conception School is grateful that they have the opportunity to continue to provide a quality Catholic education for its students and families.
For the past several years, Catholic schools have been struggling to stay afloat with dwindling school enrollment and a drop in new membership at local churches.
Immaculate Conception attributes its longevity not only to the community’s support, but also to being part of a partnership network of seven schools independently managed by a school network.
In the fall, Immaculate Conception says it will welcome around 200 newly enrolled students.
