The Willis Avenue Methodist Church, which is also home to a boxing gym, will be shutting down.
The Mott Haven gym on East 141st Street is based in a church that houses two congregations.
The United Methodist City Society says the tenants must leave, as they were unable to pay for the building's upkeep or financially support it.
Members say the church has been a pillar of the community.
