Our Savior Catholic Church held a prayer vigil Thursday for Lesandro "Junior" Guzman-Feliz, the 15-year-old who was viciously stabbed to death in Belmont last month.
Parishioners of the Washington Avenue church say Junior's story has brought the community together in ways they've rarely seen. They honored Guzman-Feliz's life and encourage the youth in attendance to strive to become positive role models.
Organizers described the vigil as a simple gathering where people could pray, talk about violence affecting the neighborhood and speak about the future.
Everyone who spoke with News 12 said Guzman-Feliz's story strongly resonated with them.
So far, 12 people have been arrested in connection with the teen's death.
