A Bronx family is holding a candlelight vigil on Tuesday for a 27-year-old man who was fatally stabbed last week in Brooklyn.
This comes as the NYPD continues their search for the killers.
Sources told News 12 that police are looking for six to eight men, but they have not released any details about those individuals.
Police said 27-year-old Michael Hernandez was stabbed several times in the abdomen around 9 p.m. on Friday near Barclays Center in Downtown Brooklyn.
Investigators told News 12 a large group gathered outside the Atlantic Terminal Mall before the stabbing, and multiple people ran from the scene.
Police said Hernandez was taken to a hospital, where he died.
His mother, Marisol Miranda, said she saw her son in the Bronx just seven hours before his death.
Now she’s demanding answers.
“I feel like they ripped him from me,” Miranda said. “No matter how hard this is, he didn’t deserve to die like this; and I just want justice for him.”
As of Tuesday evening, police said no arrests have been made.
They ask anyone with information to give them a call.
