A health center in the Bronx is trying to get residents to eliminate sugary drinks from their diets.
The Union Community Health Center on East 188th Street launched their "Sugar-sweetened Beverage Free Zone" initiative on Wednesday.
Under the plan, the center will be eliminating sugary drinks from vending machines and from staff meetings.
The center is also making water more available for staff and patients.
Organizers say most people don't know how dangerous drinks with added sugar can be.
The Union Community Health Center is the first community center in New York City to launch this kind of initiative.
