Seven Bronx high school students took part in an eight-week-long summer program, where they learned about the ins and outs of what it’s like to be a scientist.
The Beyond Albert Student Program helps kids explore science and research alongside teachers and mentors, all while making some cash.
Dr. Anne Bresnick, the director of the program, says students who participate receive a stipend of $2,500 at the end of their eight-week experience.
Teachers with the program say students not only learn about science education and lab research, but how to work in groups and network, helping with college readiness.
