The Bronx Jewish Center kicked off Hanukkah in a big way Sunday.
The holiday festivities featured the borough's tallest lego menorah, a Jewish rapper and a latke bar to feed all of the guests.
Organizers say they wanted to bring light into people's lives this year.
"Unfortunately we're coming from different disasters that happened in past weeks--what happened in Jersey City--and it's a very special time for us to reflect how we can add light and good into the world," says Rabbi Saadia Pewzner of the Bronx Jewish Center.
The NYPD was also at the event to make sure people at the event stayed safe.
The center encourages people to bring loved ones together and give them something to laugh about.
