A Bronx man is accused of taking a teen from her West Virginia home and bringing her to his apartment in the Bronx for sex.

According to records, 34-year-old Max Paul Levine drove all the way to West Virginia in June, picked up a 15-year-old girl and brought her to his apartment on Westchester and Morrison avenues.
Tenants in the building tell News 12 that Levine jumped from his fifth-floor apartment to escape the FBI.
On Tuesday, he was indicted for bringing the teen across state lines with intentions to engage in sexual activity. He faces between 10 years and up to life in federal prison along with a fine up to $250,000 if convicted.

Levine does appear as a registered sex offender on the New York State registry. It shows he has a prior offense dating back to 2015 that involved a 14-year-old girl.
News 12 spoke with several neighbors in the complex who describe him as a quiet and odd guy.
They say when the FBI came to arrest him the young girl was seen standing outside the building.
The indictment was issued in West Virginia, but News 12 is told he's being held in a correctional facility in New York.
