Bronx man in custody following death of his 79-year-old mother in Concourse Village apartment

The victim was found inside of her 6th floor apartment at 760 Grand Concourse, and her death was ruled as a homicide the day after.

Police say a Bronx man accused of killing his 79-year-old mother in their Concourse Village apartment has been charged with murder.
According to the NYPD, 57-year-old Melvin Arias was arrested Tuesday night after police found his 79-year-old mother, Francisca Trinidad, dead late Monday night. Trinidad was found inside of her 6th floor apartment at 760 Grand Concourse, and her death was ruled as a homicide the day after. It's still unclear how she died, police say.
Medical examiners are working to determine the official cause of Trinidad's death.
Arias is facing multiple charges including murder.
