A construction accident inside a future Downtown Brooklyn hotel left a worker dead Tuesday, officials say.
A crane hook fatally struck 43-year-old Paul Kenedy, of the Bronx, in the head at 61 Bond St. around 1:20 p.m., according to police.
They say he was operating the crane, and the accident happened after he got out.
The building had an anticipated completion date in April 2018.
"We are deeply saddened by this terrible tragedy," a company spokesperson said after the accident. "Our thoughts are with the grieving family at this time."
The spokesperson added that the company is cooperating with investigators and has a commitment to "the highest standards of safety."
