A Bronx man who was captured on camera putting a police officer in a headlock is now facing new charges.

Wisnel Manzueta, 29, was arrested back on July 8, a week after the video of him taking an officer to the ground while avoiding arrest was released. He originally faced second-degree assault charges.

Manzueta is now facing seven total charges, including felony assault.

According to the New York Post, he is being held on $15,000 bail.

News 12 is told the officer involved in the incident suffered bruising and cuts to his head and face.

The NYPD was frustrated that Manzueta was not charged initially.

Mayor Bill de Blasio says that policing reforms are important, but the city cannot accept violence against police officers.
