Muslims in the Bronx gathered together Wednesday to celebrate the end of Ramadan and share an important message.

Ramadan is 30 days of fasting and prayer for the Muslim community. It was a time many in the Bronx prayed for the victims of terror attacks in Bangladesh, Turkey and Orlando, condemning those who took innocent lives.

Religious Muslim leaders spoke to a crowd of more than 1,000 people in Claremont Park, telling them that now is the time to unify as they celebrate the end of the holy month.

"We will all have to come together to make sure that we stop those who will cause terror. We all have to come together to condemn evil," says religious leader Mohammed Shuaib.

Religious leaders say that the end of the holy month is the perfect time to talk about terror happening all over the world in the name of Islam because Ramadan and the religion is all about peace.

"We cannot really celebrate the end of Ramadan without talking about peace. So, we are here together to condemn terrorism. We are here together to tell the whole world, that in unity we stand the people of the Bronx," says Ramatu Ahmed, of the Ghanaian Muslim Association.
