Bronx novelty shop gets ahead of the curve for holiday shopping surge

It's a season of shortages but for one Bronx novelty shop, the owner was able to get ahead of the curve in time to stock his shelves for the holiday season.
DeCicco Brothers has been serving the Belmont community on Arthur Avenue for 30 years. The shop specializes in Italian and European novelties and souvenirs. Owner Jack Decicco visits Italy every two years and says it's the authenticity that makes his shop special.
In February, DeCicco says he and his manufacturers anticipated the current shortages and delays in products like T-shirts due to the pandemic.
DeCicco says he's thankful that he was able to get ahead of the curve.
"We doubled and tripled our orders," says DeCicco. "We're very lucky. Get it now or you're not gonna get it."
The store is open seven days a week.
