A Bronx woman is providing the opportunity for millennials to give back to people in other countries.
Success Academy assistant principal Chandell Stone started the service organization Destination Teach – which gives millennials the chance to travel abroad and volunteer in undeserved schools.
Stone says “100 percent of our travelers are people of color” – addressing what she calls a lack of a diverse presence in volunteer programs.
Stone believes Destination Teach should expand to help more communities worldwide.
"I know for a fact that this program definitely needs to continue and we need to find ways to reach more of our people and have them on this journey," said Stone.
More information about the program can be found here
