Bronx's very own radio station, nestled in Fordham University's campus, reaches listeners well beyond the borough's borders thanks to technology.

WFUV has lived on Fordham's campus for 60 years, and has constantly evolved to keep up with the changing times. The public radio station broadcasts to over 400,000 listeners across New York City and beyond, offering news, sports and of course songs.

Rita Houston, WFUV's program director, says the station has its own YouTube channel, where listeners can watch recording sessions, podcasts and get an idea of what goes on behind the scenes.

Houston says being based in the Bronx gives WFUV an edge, which includes the ability to attract new artists and give them a platform to debut their music.
