A Bronx resident who is among the top 20 finalists on NBC's "The Voice" is preparing for next week's live playoffs.
Ali Caldwell chose to team up with judge Miley Cyrus, although all four judges wanted her as a team member in the blind auditions.
"I picked her because I wanted to choose a new avenue of style and music," Caldwell says.
Caldwell recently toured with Christina Aguilera as a backup singer.
Cyrus ultimately chose Caldwell, 28, to go onto the live playoffs next week in Los Angeles, California. Only 20 of the show's original 90 contestants make it that far.
"I can't describe it," Caldwell says. "It's a feeling you can't put into words."
