Artist Paulina Perera-Riveroll organized a celebration for the Mexican holiday Dia de Los Muertos, the day of the dead, in Riverdale on Sunday.
Bronx residents learned about the traditions, where spirits are believed to come home and visit their families.
Kids were able to create their own retablos, small boxes filled with meaningful items paying tribute to lost loved ones.
Perera-Riveroll said, “We celebrate the life of the loved ones that have passed away, and today it's a whole day celebration, we make their food, we celebrate with music."
The holiday is particularly celebrated in the central and southern regions of Mexico.
