A lingering bitter blast has left some Bronx sidewalks in terrible shape ahead of an approaching snowstorm that's expected to carry more snow and ice into the city.
At East 194th Street and Valentine Avenue in Fordham, residents say their fire hydrant has been frozen within a block of ice for days.
Neighbors say the FDNY has put up a warning sign, but they wonder how firefighters could use the hydrant if a fire breaks out in the area.
The Bronx could see up to 5 inches of snow Thursday.
