Bronx residents spent their Fourth of July morning listening to a presentation on the Declaration of Independence.
Riverdale resident Don Appel holds this public presentation every Fourth of July, and 2023 marks his 11th year reciting the Declaration of Independence.
"It's always great to come here to bring the Declaration of Independence to the people instead of having it reside in a book," said Appel.
Some in the crowd bought their own copy of the historic document to follow along. Organizers say that they hope many Bronx residents leave with a better understanding of the Declaration of Independence.
