On the last day of 2022, Bronx residents are gathering to celebrate an exhibit at the YMCA in Castle Hill honoring humanitarian and baseball hall of famer Roberto Clemente.

Clemente was the first Latino inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame. Beyond being an accomplished athlete, Bronx residents tell us he strove to be a better person off the field as well. The former MLB player died on Dec. 31, 1972 while attempting to deliver 16,000 pounds of aid to earthquake victims of Nicaragua.

Officials say their hope is that when Bronx residents leave today's celebration, they'll do a "Clemente", which to them means the same thing as doing a good deed.

Fifty years after Clemente's death, the right fielder's legacy only continues to grow.
