On the first day of spring, one might have thought it was finally time to peel off those winter layers, but Mother Nature said "not yet."
Mayor Bill De Blasio released a travel advisory Sunday evening through Monday morning in anticipation of up to 4 inches of snow. Due to slippery conditions, Mayor De Blasio urged commuters to allow for extra travel time, to drive slowly, and be more careful walking or biking.
Residents said they were surprised by the cold, wet weather after weeks of warmer climates.
"I wish it was warmer on the first day of spring. I don't like snow," said Andrew McBean, of Hunts Point.
