A Bronx restaurant owner is asking for help to keep his animal shelter open.
Pedro Rosario owns La Casa Del Sabor restaurant on Tremont Avenue and also runs New Beginning Animal Rescue.
Rosario says the shelter is in danger of closing because funds are running low. He says he has been using his retirement money, along with donations, to keep the shelter open.
Rosario says residents can help support the shelter by eating at his restaurant or by making a donation at the shelter's website.
He says New Beginning Animal Rescue is the only shelter in the Bronx that doesn't euthanize animals.
The owners are hoping they won't lose the 65 dogs and 30 cats they are currently sheltering.
