Students from several schools in the Bronx will now have access to new tools and technology when it comes to studying science.
The Stanley Manne Research Institute was made through a $22 million donation from 1952 Bronx Science graduate Stanley Manne.
Manne came up with the idea for the $22 million donation back in 2019, making this the largest donation in Bronx Science history.
The research facility will give students the chance to conduct research in temperature-controlled rooms and multipurpose labs, and even give them the chance to freeze DNA.
This is the only institute on this level at any public high school in the city, and the facility has neighborhood spaces open to Bronx community members.
