Bronx state Sen. Luis Sepulveda has turned himself in to police on domestic assault accusations.
Sepulveda was at the 48th Precinct Tuesday talking to police officials.
He is accused of trying to strangle his wife in their home, according to police sources.
Sepulveda also has a previous complaint against him from Jan 9.
Sepulveda was elected in April 2018.
Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins said in a statement, "We learned of this disturbing incident this morning, I am immediately removing Senator Sepulveda as chair of his committee and from all his committee assignments. I take these allegations extremely seriously and will be monitoring this situation closely."
