Bronx tenants gathered outside the Bronx Housing Court Monday to announce a lawsuit against their landlord, who they say has neglected to make repairs.
The tenants are calling out Isaac Kassirer of Emerald Equity Group and say they will not stop fighting for their human right.
Mark Taylor at Bronx Legal Services tells News 12 Kassirer has also failed to pay utility bills causing Con Edison to send shut off notices to tenants. He also says necessary repairs have not been executed for tenants.
Earlier this year, tenants successfully fought Kassirer's application to deregulate their rent, an attempt the state housing agency Division of Housing and Community Renewal denied.
Tenants say they will not be paying their rent and will not stop fighting until they are provided with the living conditions that they deserve.
