Community Board 12 voted in favor of a proposed veteran housing development in the Bronx.
A total of 16 board members voted in favor of the development to be built at the Mueller building on Nereid Avenue while two voted against it and six abstained from voting.
The proposal plans to house 90 homeless veterans in studio apartments.
However, people in the area say they are concerned about the size of the shelter.
The site of the development is only a few blocks away from Anna's Place, where Ana Charle, the director of another homeless shelter was shot and killed by a former resident in 2015 .
