Bronx Week is back for 2021 after being canceled last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and is starting at the Patterson Playground in Mott Haven.
Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. joined Bronx Fathers Taking Action and South Bronx United for a soccer skills challenge.
Diaz says it's important for kids to get out and get some exercise to stay healthy – so while the day is about having some family fun and kicking the ball around, it's also about setting an example for the next generation.
The borough president also partnered with the Westchester Square BID for Bronx Week Health Fair Day as the events get rolling.
