Bronx's Concourse Plaza movie theater closes its doors

The last two showings were at 9:30 p.m. Tuesday for The Garfield Movie and Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga.

The Concourse Plaza Multiplex Cinema closed its doors Tuesday night.
The announcement of its closure was made in April. Parent company National Amusement says it couldn't reach a new lease agreement with the building's landlord.
The first movie screening at the multiplex cinema was in 1991.
Movie lovers News 12 has spoken to expressed extreme disappointment in the shortage of theaters in the borough. The Concourse cinema location is one of the last two commercial theaters in the Bronx.
The movie theater held showings throughout the day for those who wished to see a movie in it before its closing.
