The Brooklyn-based Marjam Supply Co. expanded into the Bronx with a location in Westchester Square.
The company moved into space formerly occupied by Eljam Products, which closed shop in December when its owners retired after 40 years in business.
Marjam owner Mark Buller says he's planned to move into the Bronx for a while.
"When this opportunity came up, it was very exciting for us," Buller says.
"The neighborhood is a treasure trove," adds salesman Sedgewick Rechin.
Marjam sells building materials and other supplies. Buller says he's looking to hire more local workers.
The company has other locations in Brooklyn and Newburgh.
