Because of the pandemic, Rescue City wasn't able to bring dogs in need of homes to offices around the city this holiday season as they typically do. Brooklyn MLS, a platform for real estate agents, wanted to help.
Brooklyn MLS's contribution gave Rescue City the funds to save a dog and her six puppies from a shelter in South Carolina.
They named her Brooklyn and the puppies Gravesend, Bushwick, Coney Island, Williamsburg, Bensonhurst and Cobble Hill.
Brooklyn was found in a ditch in South Carolina. She is now safely with her foster mom and puppies in the city.
This year with more people staying at home during the pandemic, Rescue City was able to save twice as many dogs as last year.
The executive director says they plan to save another 80 dogs this month and are always looking for donations and people interested in fostering or even adopting a new family member.
