Brooklyn rapper Pop Smoke was in federal court after being arrested on charges that he transported a stolen Rolls Royce across the state lines.
Prosecutors say the rapper, formerly known as Bashar Jackson, was arrested Friday morning at JFK Airport.
News 12 is told police found the stolen car last month in the Canarsie section of Brooklyn. News 12 is told the Rolls Royce was stolen in California.
The rapper is known for songs like "Welcome to the Party." Smoke tweeted the release of his new single "Christopher Walking" on Thursday.
The rapper pleaded not guilty and was released on $250,000 bond with supervision.
Prosecutors say Smoke is a gang member and that the condition of his release stated no contact with other gang members.
