Community members in a Brooklyn neighborhood gathered Sunday to denounce what they say has been a string of violence happening in the borough.

"I'm feeling terrible. I'm feeling angry. I'm feeling mad. I need answers, me and my family need answers man," Jamel Moore said.

Moore and his family are seeking answers in the death of his father Joseph Moore, who police say was found dead Tuesday morning on the corner of Linwood Street and Linden Boulevard.

"He was a man of love. That's all he did was love," Moore said.

He and community advocates came together Sunday to denounce not only that incident, but a number of other violent incidents that happened recently across the borough.

"We've got to stop this. We've got to put an end to this violence, this senseless violence in our community because the only people we're hurting is ourselves," community advocate Tony Herbert said.

Violent incidents include a shooting Saturday morning where five people were shot and injured at a party in Williamsburg.

On Wednesday morning, three men were seen in surveillance video attacking two Department of Sanitation workers while they were working, according to NYPD.

Police have yet to arrest a suspect in each incident. Community members are now asking for the public's help in identifying the people responsible.

"Somebody saw something. Talk up. The family really deserves peace, and peace means at least the arrest," Brooklyn Councilmember Darma Diaz said.
