323ds agoBrooklyn residents began heading to local vaccine sites Thursday to receive their second COVID-19 booster shot.
The shot is now available to all individuals ages 50 and older.
While some have already made their appointment or planned to walk in, residents tell News 12 that they have mixed feelings about receiving the second booster.
“I’m waiting on the second booster, just because I feel that three shots have been enough for me,” Pamela Warren said.
“I’m a diabetic, I have COPD, I can’t breathe, I have high blood pressure; you name it and I’m not afraid of the shots, so I think I’m going to go over there right now,” Velina Brown said,
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention warns that only individuals who have received their first booster shot at least four months ago can get the second booster shot.
They recommend waiting at least four months to give your body a chance to increase protection against COVID.
The second booster shot is available at city-run vaccine sites, as well as CVS, Walgreens and Rite Aids citywide.
