After two years of cancellation due to the COVID-19 pandemic, residents said they were grateful to celebrate St. Patrick's Day together again.

322ds agoThousands of residents gathered in Park Slope Sunday for the 45th annual Brooklyn St. Patrick's Day Parade.
After two years of cancellation due to the COVID-19 pandemic, residents said they were grateful to celebrate St. Patrick's Day together again.
The parade honors the fallen heroes and victims of the 9/11 attack on the Twin Towers.
The day started with an early morning Mass and rededication ceremony to honor the fallen before the parade kicked off.
Brooklyn Parks Commissioner Martin Maher led the charge west down 15th Street, over to 7th Avenue, then up to Garfield Place and back to 15th Street.
Residents got to enjoy a sea of green at the event which was full of four-leaf clovers, leprechauns and pots of gold.
Those who celebrated the event said they hope to continue the special tradition for decades and that it will always be in remembrance of the heroes, victims and survivors of the attacks on the World Trade Center.
