A Brooklyn man has the chance to take an Arctic trip thanks to a special program.
Jason Gomez leaves Monday for the North Pole as part of an expedition led by the Students on Ice program.
Gomez says he will visit communities to observe climate change and how it's impacting the environment.
The trip will last two weeks. Gomez says it his first time ever leaving the country.
Students on Ice exists with the goal to educate young people about the polar regions.
Gomez is a community organizer at Uprose, a group in Sunset Park that educates the community about climate change.
He is the fifth youth leader from the organization to be selected for the expedition.
