A Brooklyn woman is giving back to communities in need, going above and beyond to provide people with food, groceries and more, especially during these difficult times.
Shaquana Boykin is a community organizer and NYCHA tenant association volunteer who started the Clinton Hill Mutual Aid organization to help to feed hundreds of people impacted by the pandemic.
She also works with the Central Brooklyn Food Co-op to bring affordable groceries to low-income communities.
The Crown Heights native says she wants to do her part to make a difference.
"I love giving back. When you think about community, it's never about dividing. It's never about isolating. It's all about building, building us up, growing us," Boykin says.
As she looks to the future, Boykin hopes to continue bridging the gap for communities in need.
