The brother of a missing 54-year-old woman is asking the public to help find her.
Minister Ricardo Shark says he has been actively looking for his sister, Shani McPherson, who has been missing since May 22.
He's calling on his Fordham neighborhood to help, which is where they've lived for over 20 years.
Shark says that McPherson is intellectually disabled and that this could have been caused by one of her episodes.
"She may appear to be all right, but not really. But inside she's not OK because she deals with those mental health issues," said Shark.
He tells News 12 that he last saw his sister at home at 2661 Decatur Ave. before he went to work, and when he returned later that night, she was gone.
McPherson is described as 5 feet, 7 inches and weighs 180 pounds.
Shark says that she is usually at home or at the senior center, and goes for walks along Fordham Road during the day, and that it is unusual for her to go on a walk at night.
"It's very rare she goes for walks at night, so this is probably her dealing with one of her episodes and I don't know how long it may last," Siad Shark.
He says he hopes that she is found before Memorial Day weekend.
"People celebrate and party on the weekends and this can make it a more volatile situation, so we want to prevent that and get her home as quickly as possible," he says.
